Migration Humanitarian Health Collective
Migration Humanitarian Health Collective (MHHC) Logo Design Competition
Refugee Health YYC started as a local organization that focused its activities in Calgary and across Alberta. Recently, we have collaborated with many UN organizations and have expanded our reach globally.
We decided to change our name to reflect our growth. Our new name is Migration Humanitarian Health Collective (MHHC).
Now that we have a new name, we need a new logo, and this is where YOU come in!
Our vision is to empower and improve care for refugees and migrants worldwide.
Vision
Our mission statement is, ‘Nothing About Us, Without Us’. We include refugees, migrants, and their service providers in the development and implementation of our work.

Logo Criteria
- Incorporate our name (full name or acronym).
- Align with MHHC’s mission statement, ‘Nothing About Us, Without Us.’ and its vision to empower and improve care for refugees and migrants worldwide.
- Avoid imagery that could stereotype or misrepresent refugee and migrant communities.
- Be versatile. The logo will appear on websites, social media, printed materials and signage. It should be recognisable at different sizes and in both color and black-and-white formats.
- Consider color and typography. Use a limited color palette (ideally 2-3 colors) for clarity and timelessness.
- Avoid trendy effects or complex gradients and choose fonts that are legible and professional.
- Be original. All artwork must be your own. Do not use stock images, clip art, AI-generated content, or copyrighted graphics. If AI tools are used in any part of the process (e.g., for concept development or inspiration), this must be clearly stated in the submission.
- Designs incorporating traditional cultural symbols should be treated respectfully and appropriately; include a brief explanation of their significance.
